Faraday Hightower, a successful medical practitioner, having lost his wife, who died during a difficult birth on a ship in the Atlantic, loses faith in God and, leaving his craft, sets off to travel the world in search of the lost. Not finding answers to the questions that tormented him and not gaining peace of mind and humility, he decides to say goodbye to life.
