A book about the great German natural scientist and traveler who made an invaluable contribution to the development of a number of natural science disciplines, as well as did a lot to popularize these sciences. In 1829, Humboldt traveled to Russia for scientific purposes, which greatly contributed to the revitalization of scientific research in the field of geology, geography, botany, geodesy in general and in relation to the nature of Russia in particular.
