The collection of works by A.F. Losev (1893-1988) under the general title "Name" includes mainly the works of the great Russian philosopher, unknown to a wide circle of readers. All materials of the book are arranged in three main sections: 1) A.F. Losev's own works, 2) translations, 3) conversations with Losev. All materials presented in the book are different in genre: from individual notes, theses, research fragments to large philosophical, theological and linguistic articles. Among A.F. Losev's own works, it is necessary to single out "Imyaslavia," "Primordial Essence" and theological theses, which for the first time present to us Losev the theologian, an all-encompassing religious thinker. Brilliant translations of medieval theological treatises confirm the seriousness and thoroughness of Losev's theological research. The problem of the name, along with myth and number, by A.F. Losev's own admission, was his "element of life." For the first time presenting to the reader such a complete set of works of the great thinker on the most urgent problem today, the publishing house hopes that the appearance of this book will become a real event in the cultural and spiritual life of Russia.
