The work of famous English scientists, one of the authors of which G. Hopkins is familiar to the Soviet reader from his book "Dynamic inelastic deformations of metals" (Mir publishing house, 1964), is devoted to the problem of deep explosions, which is of interest both from the point of view of peaceful use of the explosion in the national economy, and from the point of view of applications, primarily underground nuclear tests.
