The book sets out the history of the struggle of the Egyptian people for national independence and social progress. Early forms of political struggle against colonialism are highlighted. The activities of the patriotic underground and religious groups are shown. Particular attention is paid to the formation of the organization "Free Officers," which played a major role under the leadership of G. A. Nasser in the fall of the monarchy. The final part of the book is devoted to the struggle of the Egyptian revolution (the time of President Nasser) against counter-revolution, national-patriotic forces against the Sadat regime.
