In this work of the famous English ethnographer and historian of religion J.J. Fraser, a huge ethnographic and folklore material reveals the genetic connection of Christianity with the primitive beliefs of people, which strikes at the statement of Christian theologians about the godliness of the Bible and puts it on a par with other monuments of ancient literature. For the first time in the Russian translation, the publication was released in 1931.
