Device and methods for manufacturing magnetic tape are described. Its magnetic, electroacoustic and physical-mechanical properties are considered and methods of their measurements are described. Basic data on domestic and foreign tapes are given. Recommendations are given on the choice of optimal recording and erasing modes, reducing the copy effect level and on the storage of magnetic tapes and tape films.
