Williams was born in 1907, Missouri, and died in 1977. He is still considered an outstanding science fiction writer in America. Several of his books have been reprinted in recent years. And this is in a country that does not like to engage in "repetition of what has been passed" and republishes, basically, books only of those whom it considers masters. Williams was a very harmonious author. Adventure plots never remained at the level of cardboard comics, but, thanks to the excellent literary language, seasoned with a fair amount of humor and mature ideas, stretched to the heights of American science fiction. The two main themes run like a red thread through all of Williams's oeuvre. First, it is space. Alien planet research. Here Williams, like many other authors of that era, paid considerable tribute to the works about Mars and Venus. His second main theme was time. Time and parallel worlds as an integral whole. A journey into the past (or, conversely, from the past) and the future.
