This edition presents the speeches of the speaker Libania (314-392393), who is rightly ranked among the last outstanding rhetoricians of antiquity. Having lived most of his life in his native Antioch-on-Orontes, Libanius, thanks to the merits of his works, very quickly and for a long time became one of the most famous and respected socio-political figures in the eastern part of the Empire IV century. Being a prominent representative of late antique pagan scholarship, Libanius became a teacher of eloquence for many subsequent generations, which largely explains the fact that almost all of his literary heritage has survived to us.
