This monograph describes the mechanisms of short-term memory and the functional organization of various systems and structures of the brain in the processes of short-term memory management. The neurophysiological basis of short-term memory is illuminated. The focus is on the change in synaptic functions in the effects of cholino-, adreno- and serotonergic substances on short-term memory.
