Alexander Smulyansky, author of the famous "Lacan educational program," philosopher and psychoanalyst, presents a book about the key figures of continental philosophy - Foucault, Derrida, Lacan and Zizek - considering them as representatives of structuralism and redefining this intellectual movement not only as an original episode of philosophical history, but also as an actual practice of thought. The work shows that farewell to the era of structuralism was premature. On the contrary, the urgent need for the means of structuralist thought comes at the moment, filled with events and intellectual trends, the emergence of which at different times was predicted by the main persons involved in the book. "Vanishing Theory" is a new introduction to the concepts they created and simultaneously contains an analysis of their theories in an application to modernity.
