The need to solve differential equations was one of the initial and main motives for the development of both analog and digital computers. The numerical solution of such problems still absorbs a significant part of the machine time provided by modern computers. The purpose of this book is to introduce the reader to numerical methods for solving both ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations, although we mainly focus our attention on ordinary differential equations and especially on solving boundary value problems for such equations.
