Issues of ship design theory are presented. The design features of the main types of inland transport vessels have been analyzed. The first part contains methods for determining displacement and main dimensions, calculating the mass load, design adjustment, as well as ensuring basic navigation qualities when designing a vessel. The second part is devoted to the justification of architectural and design features and the design of dry cargo vessels, oil tankers, tugboats and pushed trains, as well as chemical carriers.
