The book is dedicated to the tragic life story of the ruler of Russia Anna Leopoldovna and the Russian emperor Ivan VI (John Antonovich), forgotten and destroyed in a whirlwind of palace intrigues and bloody coups. By the will of fate, they found themselves in power, not being prepared for it and not even striving for this power. Remaining at the top of a powerful empire, they were private people, unable to defend themselves in a wolf pack of politicians, for which they paid with freedom and, ultimately, life. The fate of such people is always relevant for those who see in politics only a kind of intellectual occupation for the benefit of the people.
