The name and critical legacy of Sergei Alexandrovich Efremov (1876-1939), an outstanding literary critic, vice-president of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, author of the famous two-volume "History of Ukrainian Literature," which Nikolai Zerov called the "canon" of Ukrainian literature, returns to the literary horizon. S.A. Efremov belonged to a galaxy of obsessives, those builders of the science of literature who worked in this field, precisely Ukrainian, fruitfully and passionately, leaving descendants a numerous creative heritage, the fate of which is as tragic as its author.
