The biological features of various grape varieties taken into account when pruning vines are presented. The timing and technique of pruning, the peculiarities of pruning depending on the degree and nature of frost damage are presented, the main types of formation of grape bushes in Ukraine are described: fan, high-stemmed, as well as the formation of vines for mechanized covering for the winter, methods of accelerated formation, the main shortcomings in pruning and formation of grape bushes in production conditions, practical recommendations for their elimination are given.
