The book is devoted to the history of the image of Nizhny Novgorod by painters, engravers, lithographers, draftsmen of the XVII-XIX centuries. Scattered across numerous museums, archives, libraries, private collections, books and magazines, these pictorial and graphic works are collected in one edition for the first time. More than a hundred illustrations are given, many of which are published for the first time. Each illustration is equipped with historical and local history commentary.
