This work by M. D. Priselkov was published after his death. It is the result of his long, enormous and painstaking work on the reconstruction of the text of the Trinity Chronicle, which burned down in 1812 in Moscow along with the entire collection of the Moscow Society of Russian History and Antiquities. The deceased parchment chronicle, called the Karamzin Trinity Chronicle, was compiled in Moscow in 1408. This was the first all-Russian annalistic code, which reflected the struggle for the independence of the Russian people, for the unification of Russia into a single Russian state. When compiling the code of 1408, the annals of Tver, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod the Great, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, as well as the previous annals of Moscow, including the Chronicler of the Great Russian 1389 that did not reach us, were used, the reference to which is also in the Trinity annals itself.
