Serafimovich (real name - Popov) Alexander Serafimovich (1863-1949) - Soviet writer. From the very first days of the October Revolution, he was actively involved in the cultural construction of the young republic: he headed the literary and artistic department of Izvestia, the agitmass department of the Moscow City Council, and was a war correspondent for Pravda. The main book of Serafimovich was the novel Iron Stream, which he wrote for two and a half years (published in 1924). In the 1930s, Serafimovich made a series of essays on collectivization - "Along the Don steppes," with stories about the past and present. In 1934 he was elected to the Presidium of the Board of the joint venture of the USSR.
