As a courier of the organization, he went to Lviv, then to Grodno, but was arrested by the NKVD there in March 1940, accused of espionage. He was in transit prisons in Vitebsk, Leningrad, Vologda, sent to a camp in Yertsevo (Arkhangelsk region). Stayed there for 2 years.
