"Analysis of Beauty," a treatise by the outstanding English artist William Hogarth (1697-1764), is of considerable interest both for the interpretation of the artistic heritage of Hogarth himself, who played a large progressive role in European art, and for the history of English aesthetic thought of the 18th century.
