The book develops the concept of the life form of phytocenoses, reflecting the holistic structural adaptation of vegetation. Life forms of forest plants are classified according to the combination of morphological features and ecological features. Morphological and functional aspects of forest synusional structure analysis are considered. Features of life forms of forest phytocenoses of Siberia and the Soviet Far East are shown. Applications of the developed concept in forest typology and botanical geography are considered.
