The main goal of the work is to trace the origin, analyze and present the main problems and logic of the development of metaphysics in ancient Greek philosophy. At each stage of the development of metaphysical knowledge, its specifics are revealed, results are summed up and essential characteristics are given. The genesis of philosophy is generally seen as the formation of metaphysical knowledge.
