The main questions of the theory and application of electric drive in agriculture are presented. Information on the mechanics, dynamic properties of the electric drive, control and protection equipment, operating modes of the electric drive and the selection of the power of electric motors is given. Energy indicators and ways to reduce losses in the electric drive are considered. Examples are given.
