This book contains the memoirs of contemporaries of the Russian revolution of 1905-1907, the first onslaught against the dictatorship. In their diversity, the memoirs of participants in the revolutionary movement and witnesses of events make it possible to create a picture of the past. The memoirs included in this book were extracted from archives, old, forgotten and half-forgotten publications and have now become the property of a wide readership. The book contains the memoirs of people who were contemporaries of the revolution of 1905-1907 and were directly involved in the events of that time. Written mainly in the 1920s, these memoirs are free from layers of dogmatism and personality cult and provide the most accurate and reliable picture of the past. Each of the three sections of the book begins with a Leninist article characterizing the role and policy of the party in the revolutionary movement.
