Questions of numerical solution of prognostic equations are considered. The basic concepts of computational mathematics, the theory of grid methods, finite-difference schemes, studies of the stability of schemes and their various properties, modern computational schemes used in operational predictive models of the atmosphere are described. All material is presented on the example of solving simple meteorological problems.
