The book presents the antimicrobial properties of plants used for human food, such as fruits, vegetables and grains; experimental studies of the antimicrobial effects of certain compounds found in plants that play various roles in plant cell metabolism; antimicrobial agents (antibiotics) isolated from these plants and attempts to use them for the control of human, animal and plant diseases, as well as for the conservation and storage of food.
