The book is dedicated to the most important event in the history of our capital - the battle on the Nemiga River, which is one of the largest and bloodiest internecine battles of Ancient Russia. Many pages are devoted to the history of the Principality of Polotsk, recognized as the cradle of Belarusian statehood, the facts of the life and work of Vseslav the Sorcerer, whose name is shrouded in legends, are presented. The publication is based on archaeological data and annals, the appearance of ancient Mensk (now the city of Minsk) is described.
