The book is devoted to the presentation of the foundations of group theory - one of the most important sections of modern algebra. In addition to the traditional material related to the foundations of group theory proper, some recent achievements in this field are presented, which have not yet been reflected in the monographic literature. Much attention is paid to examples and exercises that explain the basic concepts and results.
