The principles of operation of 8080, 8085, 80868088 microprocessors and 8087 arithmetic coprocessor are described. Software methods of I/O with acknowledgement and without acknowledgement, by interrupt and by direct access to memory are described in detail. Methods of detecting and correcting errors in random access memory devices are considered and examples of their practical implementation are given.
