The ninth volume consists of two books, which together give a complete and consistent picture of the development of individual types of fine art in the described period. The story of painting and graphics continues in the second book, where you will find three personal essays: about V. I. Surikov, V. M. Vasnetsov, V. D. Polenov. The next chapter is devoted to theatrical and decorative art: the design of performances, theatrical scenery and costumes, the principles of decoration of opera, ballet and dramatic productions. A special section characterizes engravings and illustrations of the 70-80s. The development of sculpture is considered in one chapter, which tells about the main directions, and about individual masters.
