In the fall of 1480, after the famous "standing on the Ugra," the Tatar-Mongol yoke fell, weighing on the Russian people for more than 250 years. His fall was preceded by the heroic struggle of our ancestors. The Forerunner is dedicated to one of the little-known episodes of this struggle - repelling the attack of the Golden Horde Khan Akhmat in 1472 - which was a harbinger of the final liberation of the young Moscow state.
