The fourth volume of the collected works of Boileau-Narsezhak is marked by the bright and not quite usual for these authors novel "The Solution to the Charade - Man." The novel was awarded the Grand Prix for the best work of "black humor." The fantastic outline of the novel, not characteristic of the work of Boileau-Narsezhak, turns out to be only a convenient frame for political and social satire. The novel "Murder at a Distance," which was included in volume 4, so to speak, was written by Boileau-Narsezhak by order of the Parisian publisher Albert Pigass, who invited his "home authors" to write a small work that fully meets the requirements for the books that compiled the collection "Mask."
