The monograph presents clinical features of depression of different genesis and their differential diagnosis. In a comparative aspect, the results of laboratory studies (EEG, GNI and REG, exchange of biogenic amines, vegetative tone, etc.) are analyzed. The role of the relationship between central and peripheral regulatory processes in the pathogenesis of depression and the value of the age factor are discussed.
