On the Petrograd side, near the noisy Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt, on Bolshaya Monetnaya Street, green islands of former parks have been preserved. Among them are two houses built in the classical traditions of French architecture of the 17th-18th centuries, with high roofs covered with a ploughshare, a glass dome and a monumental portico above the entrance. Both houses No. 17 and No. 19 are well known to residents of the district as the Petrograd District Executive Committee (now the district administration) and the Petrograd District Committee of the CPSU on the former Skorokhodov Street. Mansions are associated with the famous Russian surname of the princes Gorchakov.
