Night and Day (1919) is the second novel by the famous English writer Virginia Woolf (1882-1941), one of the founders of modernist literature. This novel is largely autobiographical, although the author assured that the prototype of the main character Catherine was her sister Vanessa, whose name appears in the dedication. Night and Day is like a classic English novel: there is a love triangle, humor-colored lyrical sketches, lengthy dialogues, detailed descriptions of nature and everyday life.
