This publication opens a series of catalogs on Russian medieval wire coins, covering the period from the reign of Tsar Ivan IV Vasilyevich to Tsar Peter Alekseevich, during whose reign the issue of these coins was stopped. The goals of the publications are to clarify and summarize the literary data with the addition, in some cases, of their own results, as well as an attempt to create convenient manuals for amateur numismatists when collecting coins of this most complex section of domestic numismatics. The catalogs are based on the monograph by Doctor of Historical Sciences A.S. Melnikova "Russian coins from Ivan the Terrible to Peter the Great" (1), from which a small part of the illustrations of rare coin stamps is taken. In the vast majority of cases, we used a special method of photographing coins using a fiber-optic plate (2) to obtain accurate images of stamps. Coins of each ruler are divided into groups according to denominations, money yards and special issues. Inside the groups, independent numbering of stamps of the front and back sides is given. For the convenience of using the catalog, it is built on the continuous numbering of all coins.
