This scientific and documentary publication is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Vasilyevich Shcherbitsky, an outstanding political and statesman who held high positions in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic for more than a quarter of a century (1961-1963 and 1965-1972 - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR; 1972-1989 - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, member of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR), at the same time being a member of the governing bodies of the USSR.
