The monograph highlights the specifics of regional legislation regulating emissions of harmful substances by diesel engines. Mechanisms of formation of nitrogen oxides and soot in diesel cylinder are considered. The design of diesel engines whose emissions comply with Euro-5 and Euro-6 standards was analyzed.
