Scandinavia in the XIV century participated in several conflicts. The longest was Sweden's war with Denmark and the northern provinces of Germany. Sweden itself was further torn apart by internal dynastic wars. The pretenders to the throne enjoyed the support of various circles of the nobility, as well as Denmark and the Hansa.
