Fifteen-year-old Kostya lives in a strange and gloomy world, similar to a maximum security colony for juvenile delinquents. He does not remember how and when he got into this world, but he dreams of becoming an Intern, and then a Paratrooper, in order to serve the Great Goals of some "Earth Salvation Forces." In order to curry favor with the Interns, he mocks the group of recruits entrusted to him, maneuvers defenseless guys. However, Kostya is increasingly tormented by his conscience, and he begins to think: "Does the end always justify the means?"
