The results of experimental and theoretical studies of mechanical grinding of inorganic solids to particles of micron and submicron sizes are presented. The influence of the external environment on the process of obtaining finely dispersed powders, the change in the crystal structure of small particles and mechanochemical phenomena arising in connection with these changes are considered.
