The collection of documents contains the most important archival documents and materials from newspapers and magazines covering the labor and military exploits of the workers of Soviet Chuvashia during the Great Patriotic War. The compilers sought to reflect in it all aspects of the life of the republic during the war years. The publication has a popular science character and is designed for a wide range of readers. The collection was prepared in accordance with the "Rules for the publication of historical documents in the USSR" (M., 1969). Most of the documents placed in it are published for the first time.
