The book is devoted to one of the most interesting topics in ancient art and culture: three cities that died 19 centuries ago during the eruption of Vesuvius. Discovered by archaeologists, they have preserved for us the unique appearance of the Italo-Roman city, magnificent examples of works of art: sculptures, paintings, mosaics, objects of decorative and applied art. The second edition of the book is supplemented by new materials from archaeological excavations of recent years.
