This edition is the first Russian translation of one of the oldest monuments of Old Japanese literature. "Diary of an Ephemeral Life" was created at the dawn of Japanese fiction. He describes the events of his personal life, feelings and reflections of a noble Japanese woman of the XI century, known as Mitsuna no haha (Mother Mitsuna).
