Since ancient times, the wealth of Africa and India has irrepressibly attracted Spanish and Portuguese merchants. Risking their lives, they sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in pursuit of spices, gold and slaves. One successful navigation could fabulously enrich the expedition members. But more often they were waiting for death in the salty waters of the raging ocean or another death - from hunger, disease and poisoned arrows of angry natives. And yet, the Spaniards and Portuguese - forced due to the scarce resources of their countries to seek food beyond the seas and oceans - went on dangerous journeys and opened the planet Earth to humanity.
