This dictionary contains a huge number of the most used spoken English words, about 7000. But, unlike traditional dictionaries, here the words are grouped thematically. 25 main topics included in the program of teaching spoken English at the first courses of non-linguistic universities were identified. Among them there are both standard: food, housing, professions, and unusual: fabulous characters, signs of the zodiac. This design of the dictionary aims to activate vocabulary on specific topics. The dictionary can help not only to firmly master the minimum set of the most necessary words for each topic, but also to significantly enrich the passive vocabulary, expanding the possibilities of language perception by ear and reading. The dictionary will be useful both for university students studying English and for teachers as a help: quickly recall and revive the vocabulary for each of the topics presented.
