International master Tibor Karoyi and FIDE master Tigran Gezalyan prepared a major work (in two volumes) dedicated to the life and work of the 9th world chess champion Tigran Petrosyan. Volume I (1942-1962) tells about Petrosyan's childhood, starting from the war years, successes in the championships of Georgia and Armenia, about his transformation into a world-class chess player (USSR champion, Olympic gold). The final year is a victory in the famous Curacao 1962 Candidates Tournament.
