The first translation into Russian of the three tragedies of the Dutch playwright Joost van den Vondel (1587-1679), one of the prominent representatives of classicism in Western European literature of the 17th century. In the section "Additions," in addition to Vondel's selected poems, there is a translation of the Latin tragedy of the famous humanist, author of the treatise "On the Law of War and Peace" by Hugo Grotius (1583-1645).
