Anti-fascist memorial ensembles Buchenwald, Ravensbrück, Sachsenhausen occupy a special place in the history of German and European art. Erected by decision of the GDR government with funds donated by the population of the republic in places of former Hitler concentration camps, these memorials are an effective school of aesthetic and political education of the young generation of democratic Germany and young people of other countries. The flow of visitors never runs out here.
